Time to turn to the abstracts, first out is Matt Mulvaney. The title of his talk is "Honest New Features".
It is a stand-up comedy style presentations looking at new features, mostly the ones in 21.2. I look forward to it and I think it will be a great way to kick off the afternoon sessions. It should also be a good overview of a lot of features most has probably not used yet.

Next speaker up is Heli FromFinland. Some claims that is not a real last name but it is Helskyaho instead. Speaking for every non Finnish-speaking person in the world, that is not a real last name either. Who am I to speak, mine sounds like something made up by the chef in the Muppet-show? Fair point.

Back to Heli. She is an old friend of the Apex-day and tour. She is a founding mother of it and was instrumental to getting it started with a fabulous lineup already year one.
What has she not done? Ace Director, Ambassador for all usergroups in EMEA, building a company, writing books, speaking on seemingly every conference in the world before the pandemic. If you want to know what's up in the word of Oracle database, you know to stalk her on every platform you find her.
She joins us to speak about "OCI, APEX, and Machine Learning".
Heli's bio:
Heli Helskyaho is the CEO for Miracle Finland Oy. Heli holds a Master’s degree (Computer Science) at the University of Helsinki and she is specialized on databases. At the moment she is working on her doctoral studies at the University of Helsinki.
Heli has been working on IT since 1990. Heli is an Oracle ACE Director, and a frequent speaker in many conferences.

Today we're announcing the last speaker on the lineup. Lennart Ereback will be joining us.
Lennart Ereback - Founder of Bliva - will be the second speaker on customer cases. That is a talk more on the value APEX has for building a business than on diving into specific technical features of APEX.

Karen Cannell - Oracle ACE Director & VP at TH Technology - is joining us to talk about validations in APEX. It is a critical area and one I feel is not discussed enough in how to do it well.
Karen's bio:
Karen Cannell is president of TH Technology, a consulting firm providing Oracle technology services. A mechanical engineer, she has analyzed, designed, developed, converted, upgraded, enhanced, and otherwise implemented database applications for over thirty years, concentrating on Oracle technologies. She has worked with Application Express since its beginnings and continues to leverage Oracle tools to build quality solutions in government, health care, and engineering industries. Karen is ODTUG vice president; an Oracle ACE Director; editor emeritus of the ODTUG Technical Journal; an Oracle Developer's Choice finalist; an ODTUG Volunteer of the Year; and co-author of Expert Oracle Application Express,Agile Oracle Application Express, and Beginning Oracle Application Express 4.2. We're going to attempt a new kind of presentation this year. One where APEX-customers talks about the value of the product and the community. This not a deep dive technical style, but rather a value oriented talk where how APEX has enabled their business takes center stage.
To be clear, these are not paid slots ment for advertising ones company, but rather showcasing how APEX has enabled their business. I'm sure these will be among the more popular sessions this year.
First out will be Dan Larsson who needs little introduction to those who hang around the APEX-community. Few people has been featured in videos produced by Oracle without being a large customer. Even fewer in the memory of Joel video showing both Joel and Dan in a very relaxed day out by the Oracle HQ in San Francisco.
Dan has built his company's solutions on APEX, they have some 1500 customers using a solution requiring a very small team. You will want to hear his story.

The first speaker to be presented in more detail is Richard Martens. We're pleased to be joined by him and you can learn a bit mor about him in his bio:
Richard Martens has been involved in information technology for more than 20 years. He started as a web developer using the Oracle database as no more than data storage. Richard has been responsible for major European multilingual websites and has been working with the Oracle database since 2000. During those years, he developed himself using a multitude of technologies and specialised in PL/SQL and Oracle APEX. He defines himself as a database-developer, working on APEX primarily since 2005. With APEX, he combines the things he loves most: the Oracle database and web technologies.
